As part of Closing the Gap of Indigenous Disadvantage, A Generational Plan of Action and the Framework for Health and Community Services 2004-2009, Building Healthier Communities, the Northern Territory Government is committed to support and strengthen the links of family and community to help individuals lead safer and healthier lives.
This NTFC Advisory Council will be a key partner through the provision of independent advice and perspectives to the Minister, Government, and the Department on key issues impacting upon children and families.

NTFCAC makes their submission to the Inquiry into Child Protection in the Northern Territory
On 25 March 2010 the NTFCAC made a verbal submission to the Board of the Inquiry into Child Protection in the Northern Territory. On 12 April 2010 the NTFCAC submitted a written report to the Inquiry Board, including 23 key recommendations.
